7.1 Total content analysis

With an annual market of over 1,000 units sold worldwide, ICP-MS is a widely used technique in many laboratories. Table 1 gives a non-exhaustive list of applications and interferences observed and resolved using collision or reaction gas, from all manufacturers.

Among users, at the forefront historically are companies linked to the semiconductor market, which have probably been one of the main driving forces behind the explosion of this technique. The sensitivity requirements of these laboratories to perform their analyses on specific matrices (HNO _...
