4. General outline of the organic analysis section

The subjects covered are limited to descriptions of the main methods of organic analysis whose field of application covers the various activities of applied organic chemistry; in each case, the most common techniques are described, mentioning the main possibilities and optimum conditions of use.

4.1 Elementary analysis

  • Qualitative elemental analysis: this involves identifying the main atoms in organic molecules.

  • Quantitative elemental analysis: this section is limited to methods that do not require specialization or special equipment, and are therefore applicable in all organic analysis laboratories: Kjeldahl, Schöniger methods, etc.
