Positive ion formed by the interaction of a precursor ion with one or more molecules to produce an ion characteristic of the cationized molecular species.

Ionic aggregate; cluster

Chemical entity made up of a limited number of molecules linked together by non-covalent interactions and carrying one or more localized or distributed charges throughout the supramolecular structure.

Quadrupole mass filter analyzer; quadrupole mass filter

Mass spectrometer consisting of four electrodes in the form of parallel bars inside which the ions transit. The ion's trajectory is a function of its m/z ratio and the value and amplitude of DC and radio-frequency potentials applied to opposite pairs of bars.
