6. Encoding passive UHF RFID tags

Once the RFID tags have been powered up and communication with the readers established, the question remains as to the information exchanged between readers and tags. In an industrial application, this is the first question to be asked, because the answer will determine the choice of technology. As its name suggests, RFID is used to identify tagged objects quickly and reliably. So you need to know how to create unique identifiers, and how to store and protect them in a microchip.
