Partitioning (clustering)

Dividing a set of points into subsets (or clusters) of points with similar properties

Dimensionality reduction

Representation of a set of vectors belonging to a high-dimensional space by vectors belonging to a lower-dimensional space

Density estimation

Estimation of the probability density p(x) such that the training data x ₁ ,..,x _N and test data can be regarded as random samples following the probability distribution p(x).

Generative model

Algorithm generating samples according to an explicitly given or implicitly estimated probability p(x) from training data x ₁ ...
