With a wide range of characteristics in terms of size, load capacity, endurance and maneuverability, UAVs can be equipped with all kinds of sensors (LIDAR, sound level meter, thermal camera, etc.) and are therefore used in a wide variety of situations, particularly in hostile environments or for so-called "Dull Dirty Dangerous" missions.
