Ultrasonic flowmetering is a technology that can be adapted to numerous measurement constraints in the industrial world. It is also very attractive for users, as it is one of the few non-intrusive methodologies available on the market, making it possible to add a flow measurement point to an existing process inexpensively and without major constraints. The downside of this high degree of adaptability is the consolidation of measurement accuracy, which can be complicated to control. As it is dependent on the 3speed profile, a parameter which is generally not accessible, it is best to install it in an area where the flow is fully developed, i.e. at a considerable distance from any flow disturbance, which can be a complex task in an industrial environment.
