3. Metrological evaluation of a weighing instrument

To use a weighing instrument properly, the user must be familiar with its features and be able to assess their suitability to his needs.

Example:

it would be an illusion to weigh a 20 g letter on a 50-ton weighbridge.

3.1 Metrological characteristics

  • The measurement range is defined by the difference between the maximum range (Max) and the minimum range (Min).

    The maximum capacity (Max) corresponds to the maximum weighing capacity, excluding the additive tare capacity.

    The minimum load range (Min) corresponds to the load value below which weighing results may be subject to excessive relative error.
