4. Mass-spring system

4.1 Principle

One-dimensional vibration systems are essential for describing certain acoustic phenomena to first order. Whether it's airborne noise or vibration transmission, the behavior is the same: an excitation on a facing decoupled from its support by a resilient (even air, for example) (figure 11 ).
