4.1 Limitations of the technique
As we have seen, the SEA method requires a number of assumptions to be made when writing the energy equilibrium equations. Moreover, recourse to analytical calculation of the terms of the loss factor matrix induces an additional cause of variance linked to the difficulty of simulating the physical behavior of a real system by the behavior law of a simple equivalent system. Every SEA prediction is therefore associated with an inescapable variance. In the frequency bands in which we wish to carry out the prediction, it is therefore necessary to know, in relation to the problem posed, the acceptable degree of variance for the result of the calculation to make sense.
