2. Industrial tomographs

We present the different types of tomographs available and the components that make up a tomograph, before listing the equipment suppliers, the subcontractors who carry out part scans, the foundries equipped and the different types of parts currently concerned by tomography.

2.1 Different types of tomograph

The various types of tomograph can be classified into 4 main families, depending on the resolution achieved and the energy of the radiation used:

  • nano-tomographs: the low-energy source delivers photons between 40 and 100 kV. This field generally corresponds to medical applications, but can also be applied to nano-tomography (sub-micron resolution);
