5. Conclusion

This report presents all the technical and financial elements involved in restoring tufa bars. The monitoring results should enable technicians in charge of the same type of project to respond to the questions and fears of local residents and elected representatives, based on this concrete feedback. Each technician is then free to adapt the practices and monitoring set up according to the context, resources or specific objectives of each site: hydraulic, piscicultural, physico-chemical.

The initial results show that the environment appears to be in a positive state and that the objectives prior to the installation of the facilities have been met:

  • formation of refuge zones upstream (low-water reservoirs) and downstream (formation of a pit directly downstream of the structure) for the majority of developments;...
