6. Participatory science for soil conservation
Participatory science, also known as "citizen science", is a research process that associates non-experts with scientific experts. In other words, it's a research process that brings together citizens and researchers, each bringing a level of knowledge or involvement that is useful to the other.
Participatory sciences appeared in the 1980s in the healthcare sector and in Anglo-Saxon countries. The aim was to involve patients in the development of new treatments and to associate their feelings with the finalization of new drugs (well-being, side effects, treatment efficacy...). It was only in the 2000s that participatory sciences appeared in the field of environmental sciences and biodiversity (
