4. Conclusion

It should be remembered that IWRM at basin level in no way presupposes the establishment of a single institution whose sole function is to manage all the components of IWRM. Rather, it is an approach which, through collaborative mechanisms between public and private institutions and public participation, ensures that water resources are used sustainably to meet the essential needs of all users, while maintaining the functions of the natural ecosystem .
