4. Conclusion

The general aim of this article was to provide a scientific basis for studying the propulsion technique and ergonomic aspects of sports wheelchair settings (in line with the user) in order to improve performance and reduce injury risk factors associated with this mode of propulsion. In this context, we used a conceptual model illustrating the main factors influencing the ergonomics of FRM performance. Several assessment tools have been developed to measure the biomechanical parameters influencing sports performance. Roller ergometers, for example, enable low residual torque to be maintained with wheelchairs, even for high-camber wheels, reflecting the conditions of the terrain. Measuring tools using on-board sensors offer the advantages of being lightweight, compact and able to be used on all FRMs without configuration modification.
