Structure porteuse (charpente) et enveloppe ; Load-bearing structure (frame) and envelope

The entire escalator is factory-assembled in a steel structure and delivered to site in one or more sections (approx. 6 m long, to facilitate access to the installation point). The framework is made up of sections welded together to form a lattice, with the sections bolted together if delivered in several sections.

Designed to accommodate all the elements making up the staircase or walkway, the structure is formed by parallel load-bearing metal beams, clad on three sides, with steps, trays or strips at the top (figure 4 ).

In general, the framework rests on a support beam at each landing.
