These are actions that are foreseen in the use of the construction, but whose amplitude exceeds the values for which it was designed. Examples include :

• cyclones, resulting in wind speeds exceeding those of the exceptional wind provided for in the Rules for Snow and Wind (article Rules for Snow and Wind NV65 [C 3 305] in this treatise);

• loads whose current exceeds the value for normal operation;

• shock actions; etc....
