Steel structures - Pathology of steel structures

Before any study, a diagnosis of the structure to be rehabilitated must be carried out:

• geometric survey of the structure (spans, profiles) ;

• general condition (corrosion) ;

• search for stability principles ;

• investigation of steel characteristics (sampling, testing, possible weldability) ;

• search for maximum allowable load-bearing capacity (own weight + overloads) ;

• means of assembly.
