Tubes are available in sections 26/34, 33/42, 40/49, 50/60; the best-known is the "40/49" tariff 10, which has a maximum tube thickness and is the only one recognized for use as scaffolding.

Tubes of different diameters must not be used on the same scaffold. Stability or bracing legs for prefabricated scaffolding can be made of 40/49 with special collars.
