2. Cement and chemical injections
Injection, as described in this chapter, consists of introducing a liquid grout into the soil, which stiffens to seal and/or consolidate it.
Not covered in this chapter are injections into cracks in rock massifs, injections to fill voids (cavities, quarries, sinkholes, etc.), grouting injections for anchor bolts, micropiles, nails and bonding injections. Other injection techniques, such as the deep mixing method, jet grouting, solid injection and resin injection, are described in Chapters 3 to 6.
