Biocalcification

A process that uses bacterial activity to precipitate calcium carbonate in the form of calcite onto soil grains, creating a new, more resistant cohesive material.

Injection

Under pressure, grouting introduces a more or less viscous grout into soil voids to reduce permeability and/or increase mechanical properties. A distinction is made between impregnation grouting and slurry grouting. Grouts can be based on hydraulic binders, chemicals or resins.

Deep Mixing Method

Mixing the soil in place with a hydraulic binder to form a new "soil mix" material.
