The floor-to-–-to-wall interface is one of the most critical areas in a project. It is simultaneously subjected to mechanical, hydrostatic, and thermal stresses, the combined effect of which can compromise the wall’s durability if not addressed during the design phase.
Unlike a solid mineral wall, an insulated straw wall is more susceptible to prolonged moisture exposure. The base of the wall thus becomes a critical point where structural integrity, thermal continuity, and water protection all come into play.
