1. Definition of Loads Acting on Glazing

The design of glass products to which the NF DTU 39 standard does not apply is defined such that, in accordance with the calculation rules set forth in the Eurocodes, a distinction is made between:

  • service loads, under which the deformations of the glazing do not give users a sense of insecurity and do not interfere with the normal operation of the structure (serviceability limit state or SLS);

  • the maximum foreseeable loads for the site in question, for which the stability of the glazing is ensured with a safety factor sufficient to prevent the failure of the structure that could endanger people (ultimate limit state or ULS).
