INTRODUCTION
Gas, like all fuels, generates combustion products. Provisions must therefore be made to ensure that appliances are supplied with combustion air and that combustion products are vented to atmosphere.
This article provides an update on the essential knowledge in this field.
In particular, it takes account of recent European directives on gas appliances, their classification and efficiency, and describes new technical requirements concerning, in particular, the sizing of natural-draught flues for the connection of more efficient gas appliances.
