EN 1090-2 defines the expected performance of a structure, from the supply of materials (steels, mechanical fasteners, welding consumables, etc.) to on-site assembly.
Since the publication of

in the IT bases, the standard has been revised in 2018, in particular to take into account comments made at European level following numerous feedbacks. Certain requirements have therefore evolved, but without calling into question the general principles. The aim of this article is not to provide a detailed comparative assessment of the two versions, but to highlight the main changes in the text.
The aim of the first part is to provide an overview of these developments in relation to two cross-cutting themes: procurement and execution classes. The article then returns to thermal cutting operations, briefly discussed in the previous article, and to certain developments in the welding chapter. It then looks at the requirements for mechanical fastener assemblies (drilling, installation, inspection).
Finally, he concludes by returning to the "inspection and test plan", an essential element of the documentation to be drawn up by the carpenter, with objectives of project management and communication between those involved.
