Self-compacting concrete

On-site acceptance of the concrete must verify that it is suitable for use without vibration, and that it conforms to the nominal formula.

This operation is essentially based on Abrams spread measurement.

The acceptance procedure is as follows:

• take a representative sample of concrete (if delivered by router, mix the concrete at high speed for one minute beforehand);

• Abrams cone spread test;

• check that the result is within the acceptance range.

It is advisable to carry out an acceptance inspection at least on the first load of the concreting day and systematically in case of doubt.
