2. Ventilation techniques

For industrial buildings whose activities emit pollutants, a distinction is made between two ventilation techniques: local exhaust ventilation and general dilution ventilation.

2.1 Local ventilation

Local ventilation is an engineering solution designed to reduce worker exposure to airborne pollutants such as dust, mist, fumes, vapours or gases (figure 1 ). It is often the main exposure prevention measure employed in the workplace.
