9.1 Structures in contact with seawater
This includes piers, ferry terminals, oil platforms and lighthouses.
In all these cases, you can use :
or epoxies, which offer very long resistance to seawater (several decades) and protect steels from saltwater corrosion, but produce rigid joints;
or polysulfides, flexible epoxy-polysulfides or epoxy-polyurethanes.
