1. Presentation and benefits of the structure
The Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converter is a galvanically isolated DC-DC converter. This class of switching converter uses a DC energy source (batteries, rectified AC network, etc.) to control the voltage and/or power of a DC load with very high efficiency (between 80 and 95%, depending on the power level), while guaranteeing high power density or mass. Applications are numerous, including laboratory power supplies, DC-DC conversion within on-board networks (avionics, railways) or battery chargers for electric vehicles. This function can be performed by a variety of DC-DC conversion structures, possibly preceded by an AC-DC stage. These topologies are organized according to the synoptic diagram shown in figure
