There are many possible types of architecture, and we won't explore them all here. However, all architectures can include :

• a locally-generated, remote or stored energy source,

• a chopper,

• connecting lines,

• a load,

• filters,

• transformers,

• control electronics,

• sensors (temperature, current, etc.),

• inputs/outputs to the world outside the power chain.

Depending on the task (DCDC converters, electrical machine controls, etc.), the layout of these elements is different, and so are the control strategies or electronic circuits.
