Use and main types of analog frequency dividers

Most microwave systems feature a microwave source frequency-stabilized by a phase-locked loop. Frequency dividers are an important component of these subassemblies. Starting from a microwave frequency, these loops include a frequency division to perform a phase comparison with the signal emanating from a reference oscillator such as a quartz oscillator.
