5. Conclusion
Modulation is the control method applied to static converters, in which solid-state switches are switched at a high frequency, relative to the characteristic response time of the load, to ensure an average value of the converter's output signals. Modulation schemes for static converters are numerous. The choice of a modulation strategy has an influence on criteria to be optimized such as the linear operating range, switching losses, neutral voltage in three-phase inverters, or the quality of the converter's output waveforms.
In this article, an average model has been adopted, enabling linear relationships to be established between the average voltage at the converter output and the duty cycles to be applied to the converter arms.
