Industrial DC motors are built according to the same structure as the simplified motor we saw in the article [D 3 555, Figure 4] .

Figure 1 shows an example of a small stator-wound motor, with its various components: rotor, stator, commutator, brushes.

• The inductor can be permanent-magnet or wound.

  • The first type (with permanent magnets) is found in most servomotors used for low-power servo-controls (under 5 kW), such as robots and axis movements (plotting tables, etc.).
