The environmental impact of energy . A few examples

The world's energy sources are fossil fuels (around 80%), renewable energies and nuclear power. The breakdown of primary energy consumption, i.e. before any transformation, is shown in figure 6 for the year 2022. Please note that the sum of the percentages shown does not exactly equal 100% due to rounding. These data should be considered as an order of magnitude, as there are minor discrepancies between the different sources (IEA, BP, etc.) due to the way in which each source is evaluated. However, this does not detract from the overall understanding of the problem.
