4. Monitor expected results
To analyze and monitor the action plan, your company needs to use energy performance indicators (EPIs). These are parameters that enable you to track progress in energy performance and the significant energy uses (SEUs) to which they are associated.
Internal audits should then be carried out at varying intervals to ensure that the actions taken are still in line with the defined policy. At the start of the process, audits could be carried out on a quarterly basis. As the system matures, the interval could be extended to one year. Initially, these audits will be dedicated solely to the EMS, then grouped together with QSE audits when the company is fully up to speed.
