1. Conduct an Energy and Metrology Assessment

1.1 Map the site’s energy flows

Start by collecting all available data:

  • energy bills from the past three years (electricity, gas, fuel oil, purchased steam);

  • readings from main supply meters (billing meters);

  • diagrams of internal networks: steam, compressed air, chilled water, hot water;

  • production volumes and schedules (tons, units, operating hours).

Follow up with an audit conducted with plant operators to validate the mapping and identify major energy consumers: furnaces, compressors, chillers, boiler rooms, and lighting. Prioritize equipment accounting for more than 5% of total consumption....
