4. Conclusion
The ISO 14001:2026 for environmental management systems (EMS) is a very useful tool for integrating environmental considerations into the management of any organization, regardless of its location, size, or industry. It is based on the principle of continuous improvement, which is essential given the constantly evolving standards for acceptable environmental protection.
To facilitate the implementation of a generic management system model, it was deemed useful to slightly modify the structure of ISO 14001:2015, standardize the specifications applicable to the same elements of management systems, and revise the wording of certain definitions in ISO 14001:2026.
