AEGLs
Acute Exposure Guideline Levels . These are values defined by the EPA to protect the population in the event of accidental emissions of chemical substances into the atmosphere.
BMD
BenchMark Dose: this is a dose producing an effect corresponding to a change in response level compared with a control group.
BMD10: this is the dose that produces 10% of cancers in a study.
BMDL10: lowest confidence limit of BM10. This is the dose that statistically produces an increase in cancers, with a 95% confidence index to reflect statistical uncertainties and errors (see Criteria for determining the rating of a study (Tool
