4. SEVESO sites: reinforced security against malicious acts
Seveso-classified sites are hazardous industrial facilities, classified according to the degree of risk they pose, depending on the substances used or produced.
The June 26, 2015 attack on a low-threshold Seveso facility in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier (Isère), as well as the two criminal explosions at a petrochemical site in Berre l'Étang on July 14, 2015, highlighted the need to strengthen the protection of Seveso facilities against malicious acts. The Government instruction of July 30, 2015 (not published in the Journal Officiel ) specifies the procedures for operational implementation, under the authority of prefects, of the following actions:
