3. Protection of scientific and technical heritage: ZRR
Restricted zones (ZRR) are part of a panoply of measures designed to protect France's scientific and technical potential. They are created at the request of industry.
Articles 410-1, 413-7 and R. 413-5-1 of the French Criminal Code allow eligible manufacturers to create restricted zones (ZRR) within their companies, in order to protect the nation's scientific and technical potential, and thus industrial knowledge and know-how.
These may be R&D, production or storage premises, for example, where the manager feels there is a particular need for protection.
Eligible industrial fields are those related to certain activities in the following sectors:
