Why talk about safety?

The Lockerbie bombing in Scotland, the September 11 attacks in New York, the London and Madrid bombings, and their aftermath:

• global supply chain security through the various international transport regulations;

• a voluntary program to protect the United States from international terrorism by controlling imports;

• a voluntary European program: the AEO or Authorized Economic Operator;

• a still active threat, such as Al Qaeda and Daech.
