INTRODUCTION
The term "specific treatments" is used to describe treatments involving several techniques and processes, which are becoming increasingly widespread. These include :
calco-carbonic equilibrium, sometimes considered a luxury, but now seriously revitalized, since we are more concerned about consumer comfort (scaled machines, etc.), the longevity of pipes (corrosion, incrustation, etc.), and new health problems such as lead;
Extensive natural pre-treatments that limit the need for other treatments;
treatment of treatment by-products.
We'll also say a few words about the progress made in automating analytical measurements, particularly when applied directly to processing.
