WFD (Water Framework Directive)
The WFD has several objectives:
non-degradation of resources and environments ;
the good status of water bodies, unless a derogation is justified;
reducing pollution linked to substances ;
compliance with standards in protected areas.
The directive calls for a description of water pricing and the application of the principle of recovery of the costs of water services, including environmental costs, taking into account the application of the polluter-pays principle.
