Energy costs are becoming an increasingly important part of production costs, and many existing plants will have to be modified to reduce processing costs. For new plants, the choice of evaporation scheme requires more preliminary assessments, as energy costs and payback times differ widely from country to country and even from plant to plant. That's why the options available are now very detailed, right from the pre-study stage, to enable a decision to be taken on the best possible arrangement. Simulation programs, often developed in-house by suppliers, will therefore be increasingly essential.
