1. Stainless steel
This includes stainless steel and objects made exclusively of stainless steel, which in their finished state are intended to come into direct contact with food products.
This does not apply to stainless steel products and articles which are not intended, under normal conditions of use or other normally foreseeable conditions, to come into contact with food products (such as pump shafts).
The main examples of use for the different families of stainless steels are given in Appendix B of standard NF A 36 711.
