5.1 Implications for the ecological transition

Gas bioconversion aligns directly with the objectives of the National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC) and the European roadmap toward climate neutrality by 2050. Its potential contribution to the decarbonization of industry occurs through several complementary pathways. First, the biological utilization of CO 2 (derived from fermentation, anaerobic digestion, or industrial flue gases) transforms a greenhouse gas (GHG) into a substrate for the biosynthesis of useful molecules, minimizing carbon emissions into the atmosphere by replacing fossil carbon as a primary feedstock.
