2. Solid state kinematics
To study the motion of a solid (Sk) in a reference frame, we link to (Sk ) the reference frame (Rk ) and study the motion of (Rk ) in (Ri ) (figure 27).
Indeed, at any point of (Sk ) we can make coincide a point of (Rk) whose kinematic elements are identical. Similarly, to study the motion of a solid (S2) relative to a solid (S1), we link to (S1) and (S2) the landmarks (R1) and (R2).
