Considerations for a packaging CDCF
Designing functional specifications

Before going into the details of how to construct and use functional analysis, we'd like to give you as complete a list as possible of all the packaging functions we've encountered in our many years of consulting work for a wide variety of industries. This list will enable you to approach the reality of what packaging is, or should be. It constitutes a generic model which can be used, when constructing a functional analysis, to check that no important function has been overlooked.

There are many elements to consider. Figure 2 summarizes the various "demanders" of packaging functions.
