The risk-based approach which permeates the standards is applicable to all subjects, and in particular to the definition of roles which have the greatest impact on the aims and expected results of the quality management system.

This does not mean establishing a hierarchy between roles or people, but it may open the door to differentiated levels of requirements and means associated with different roles.
