2. Prepare the ground for facilitation

Facilitation takes preparation. The project manager needs to have an idea of what he or she wants to achieve. Facilitation is often a very good way of getting the ball rolling, since it enables you to :

clearing the way;
sort out ;
decide on priorities.

Here are a few facilitation activities to inspire project managers.

2.1 Setting a goal

It's important to clearly state the objective of facilitation. Failing to mention the objective can easily lead the team to produce unrelated content. This announcement is also a good time to remind the team of what's at stake at the current stage of the project.
